FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Division for Late Medieval and Reformation Studies has several research assistantships and one editorial assistantship (connected to the Archive for Reformation History) to distribute among especially qualified students. For information on the availability of these assistantships, please contact Program Coordinator Luise Betterton.

Students in the Division are also eligible to apply for fellowships and graduate assistantships through the Department of History. For Ph.D. candidates, the Department has a number of teaching assistantships available each semester. Post-Master's degree students need the classroom experience provided by teaching assistantships to enhance their dossiers as they prepare to enter the job market.

The Graduate Committee also has research assistantships, graduate tuition scholarships, and graduate registration scholarships. For information on applying, write or see the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of History.
The Division encourages students who are beginning archival research for their dissertations to enter national and international competitions for fellowships. An exceptional 100% of our scholars have won international fellowships, the majority of these being the prestigious Fulbright fellowship. We keep available the latest edition of the American Historical Association's Grants, Fellowships and Prizes of Interest to Historians . The Division also possesses some resources from which funds may be drawn to support the writing phase of the dissertation.
